Pilchard is founded
on five fundamental principles:
- A small
'personality-laden' brand with real ambition can always outmanoeuvre a
painfully predictable big brand with a timid, safety first
mindset.
- End consumers love approachable 'challenger' brands with real
spark.
- Marketing is neither an elitist sport nor a mystical art, but
rather an easily accessible potpourri of common sense, creativity, energy
and enthusiasm, which can unravel any product's unique brand essence,
before buffing it up & moving it forward.
- Customer needs are king! It can be very easy for any brand
owner to get so immersed in a brand that occasionally they need an honest
and impartial voice to provide another fresh, yet well-disciplined
perspective.
- Big budgets, whilst nice, are not essential with regards to
seizing category stewardship or securing a disproportionate share of voice
(i.e. it's not what you have but what you do with it!).
